That's right, I don't usually write on Saturdays but today is one of the few weekends where I have hit a new low. I am a little bummed that I have officially missed my Feb goal of <200. I worked really hard this week adding 3 runs on top of my p90x routine. Diet was pretty good for the most part but I really figured I needed extra calories with all the extra work I was doing. It just proves to me that If I buckle down I can get shit done (loose weight). Hopefully I will be seeing that 1 in front of my number soon. I suppose I still have today to hit my goal but my body is feeling pretty wasted and I am not going to do any crash dieting to reach it. Got to always remember that the number on the scale isn't the most important thing.... just a progress measure. Hope everyone else is having a good weekend.

Shorty
Today's Weigh In: 203.2
Well looks like I have battled back down to where I have been weight wise which is good but not good in relation to my February goals. I guess it is what it is so that's that. My lunch yesterday was not the best choice but besides that my diet was descent. I did bust my azz in the workout front. The place I work decided to set 5 furlough days between now and July 1 (to save $$$s for FY09). So every month I have a week where I work four 8 hour shifts instead of four 10 hours shifts. Makes for a really nice short day and gets me home around 3 or a little after. So yesterday after my not so good lunch i felt guilty and thought to myself that I needed to burn it off. So I ran 5 miles on the treadmill in 52 mins which burnt 810 calories via my polar heart rate monitor. Shortly after 5 I did my p90x workout (shoulders & arms) with my friend. So by the time I got home I was whipped. I guess if I am looking at calories alone I did ok yesterday.
Tonight is YogaX which I really dislike. I think the main thing I don't like about it is its way too long at 90mins. Most people who do the p90x with results and consistency end up really liking the YogaX. I am still waiting for that to happen to me. ;). But I am committed to the program so I will be doing it tonight.
I just picked up the new "Red" album. Its pretty good and I am digging it.
If your reading this keep up the good fight against the fat.

Ripx180 = Broken Record....
Leave it to David to call me out of hiding (thanks man)....
I guess you could just say I pulled a "Ripx". Meaning I did my usual bad eating over the weekend and am trying to re loose the yuck food pounds. I feel like total dumb ass and I have no good excuses. I used my mini brain of mine to decipher the fact that there was no way to meet my February goal. Even though its not recommended I am going to revert back to the p90 diet and continue to do the p90x workouts. At this point in my weight loss I need to loose weight not maintain or gain muscle. Which makes me wonder if I am doing the wrong program. I am definitely dedicated to finishing my 90 days though, only 2.5 weeks left. I may try doing the lean rotation of P90x again after I finish this classic rotation.
As you can see via my sidebar I have a Vegas count down clock. I would really like to be in the 180s by then but with rate I am going I don't know if its feasible. Guess I have to hit the elusive Onederland first. Anyway I will get back to posting more frequently as I know it does more good than bad (for me at least) lol....
For those of you that remember the "FAT Coalition" our good buddy Rob is back in action. Go to his old blog and get setup to read on his new blog. Hes a good guy to have in your motivation corner. You can find his old blog on my sidebar.

February is Slipping Away.
Today's Weigh In: 204.6
Well look at that..... no change. Before I go on a tirade about my weight not going down I need to back up and talk about the weekend. Exercise wise I am pretty proud of myself. I got up early Friday morning like I said I was going to and did my Back & legs routine. It was brutal and I have way more respect for those of you who do your workouts in the early morning (6am). I have so much more energy and drive in the afternoon or evening workouts. Saturday while at the beach I made myself go down and do my KenpoX (by myself). It was lonely and seemed long but I did it. Another thing that I was happy about was I didn't sit in the car once to get down to the beach. I walked back and forth with my son on my back most trips. Most of those trips were by myself too as everyone else in my family and extended family decided to drive down.
As seen in the pic Ocean Side Oregon is pretty much on the side of a hill so the walk was a really good workout. When I reflect on my food choices this weekend there was some good and some not so good. I really expected to be up a few pounds but I'm not so that's good and I will take it. With as much as I am working out I cant believe I am not loosing weight. I think I maybe back to the part where I will have to really track my diet or I am not going to go anywhere. Anyway weekend was good and I had a really nice time.
On a downside I have finally ran into a little injury. I pushed it too hard on my shoulders day last week and tweaked something in my right shoulder. It feels like a muscle thing but when I rotate my arm I can hear and feel some twanging and crackling etc. I still have pretty good mobility but its really achy and it effects any upper body workouts I do (push ups, pull ups, shoulder work etc). Tonight is PlyoX so lots of jumping and crazy cardio on tap. I will probably spend a hour or so on the stationary bike too while watching the biggest loser.
As David pointed out February is half way gone and thus far I have no weight loss to show for it. That really frustrates me given the amount of effort I feel I have put in. To put it bluntly, it pisses me off. I feel like I am trapped at 205. I guess I need to take it to a new level, I just don't know where or what that new level is. I wonder if I am eating too much or too little, I know i am getting enough exercise to warrant a weight loss. I am tired of busting my ass and not having much to show for it. blaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

Space Case
No weigh in today as I spaced it due to running late for work.
My chest and back is still really sore from Monday's workout. Now my legs and knees are sore from last nights workout. Tonight is shoulders, triceps, biceps, and the possibility of some bike time. Diet has been good today, I did have a bagel but I felt like I needed the extra carbs to get through the day. I have had that hungry feeling in my stomach lately so hopefully that means I am loosing weight. I have noticed if I am not slightly hungry throughout the day I am not loosing weight most likely.
We leave for the beach on Friday afternoon. My plan is to get my workout in Friday morning (legs and back) before my wife leaves for her half day of work. Then I only have to worry about Saturday's workout (Kenpo X) at the beach and maybe throw in a run here and there. Sunday is my off day and Monday normal workouts can resume. The eating portion of the weekend is going to be the tuff part. I think for me to be successful portion control will be key. Anyway, I am thinking about it and trying to put together a plan of attack.

Muscle Confusion
This Morning : 204
Well the weekend didn't go exactly as i had planned it. Number one issue I had with it was I got sick. The cold that had been hunting me finally caught up and sunk its claws in. I missed one workout this weekend cause I was down and out Sunday. Saturdays workout left me feeling shaky, weak, and sick so I thought it was best to skip Sundays. Last night I almost skipped my workout again because I still wasn't feeling 100%. But I figured its better to push through at this point rather than miss another workout (Plus my workout buddy was pushing too, misery loves company). Last night was the start of week 9 of the P90X "Chest and Back". Lots of freaking push ups and lots of freaking pull ups. I do believe in the whole hype behind "Muscle Confusion" that P90x speaks, I am really freaking sore today. You really never do a workout long enough for your body to get really good at it. Tonight is Plyometrics one of the hardest cardio workouts in the program. I cant lie, I am not looking forward to kicking my own ass tonight but what needs to get done will be done.
Also to continue on with my "accountability posts" I had a couple Coors lights and a BBQ'd burger with some friends on Saturday night. Probably why my weight isn't lower today then it was on Friday. I am not feeling quite as amped as I did last week either, I need to refind that fire. This coming weekend we are going to the beach for Valentines day. Yet another test of my dietary resolve and workout ethic.... I should be able to post/read blogs this weekend so keep them going.
Tomorrow is another day...... until then.

Strike One
Well last nights agenda did not go as I had planned. About 2:30 my folks called and asked if we wanted to come over for dinner and a movie. We decided it sounded good as we haven't seen them in a while. I was planning on trying to get in my workout when I got home but didn't get home until almost 11. I have to work this Friday (today) and that meant the alarm was going off at 4:50 am. So I didn't get my workout in. Luckily P90x has one rest day a week so I am going to switch my rest day with last night. As for eating I ate well. I was very conscious about what and how much I was putting in my body. I did have one coors light with my dad (110 cal)... This last paragraph is what stinks about accountability. Or I guess what is good about accountability, it keeps you honest with yourself and readers.
So tonight is Core Synergistics again. Its a brutal all body workout that really gets things done. Got my meal plan in place and TGIF. Ohhhh yeah!!!! yes that's me in that cheesy ass bowling picture two weeks ago. I think I ended up gutter balling that shot due to camera pressure.
Make this weekend a good healthy one, I plan too.
Quick Blurp
Morning Weigh In: 203.6
Not much loss on the scale this morning but I ate a little more than usual yesterday. All good stuff so no worries (had some sweet potatoes and yams with dinner last night). Did my KenpoX last night and sweated a ton. Tonight is a 2 mile hill run and stretchX (low intensity). The menu plan is all planned and packed, i already have 500-600 cals in my morning and mid morning eats so got to scale back a little.
Anyway the thought to these daily posts where I talk about what's on tap is to form somewhat of a accountability for myself. It helps knowing I have a few readers too, so thanks to those of you who comment. Here's to hitting Onederland sooner than later. Then I have many more pounds to fry after that. Have a good Thursday.

I Did What I Said
This Mornings Weight: 204
Last night was a good night in Ripx land. I ate healthy, did my p90x workout, and road the
stationary bike for a hour last night while watching The Biggest Looser. I want to get a new polar heart rate monitor to better track calories burnt in the P90x workouts. *Note to "polar" watch owners--The battery is pretty easy to replace but takes your watch out of warranty. It also messes with your water resistance if you don't get stuff put back in snugly. I washed my hands with my polar watch on and fried it = $90 dollar mistake. My stationary bike has a heart rate monitor that is pretty accurate if you don't let go. It put me in the 130-140 bpm and said I burnt 800cals in my 60 mins of pedaling.
I have my healthy food all packed and ready to roll for the day. Tonight is KenpoX which is a really good cardio workout. No stationary bike tonight as its "Game Night". A couple work friends and myself play Call of Duty 4 or 5 on the PS3 on most Wednesday nights.... good times.
Anyway this post has got to end cause I need to get back to work. Have a good Wednesday Y'all

Fat Fry February...
Well I decided I needed a cool name for February like Billy & Jay had for January. That way its not just another month right? So this morning I weighed in at 205.3 which is right about were I expected I would be after Sundays not so super food choices. As I proclaimed yesterday I am still shooting for sub 200 by the end of this month. I think its very obtainable or doable. Really short term goal is to make it through the weekend unscathed by shatty food and bad dietary decisions. If I can do that the world will be my oyster (that reminds me of a mid 1980s song, name that tune)... I am in phase two recovery week of P90x this week. That brings up Core Synergistics tonight which i really like. Dinner will follow (turkey meatballs over veggies). Then later in the evening while watching the Biggest Looser I will be pedaling my recumbent bike (which I moved out to the living room). I figured if I am going to be watching tv I can at least be pedaling. I am shooting for at least a hour or somewhere near that (nice slow fat roast).Anyway all my blogger buddies its time to pick back up the blow torch and scorch some fat in February. It has seemed way too quite around the fitness blogs lately. I would really like to see some posts from Kristen, Jason, Will, Melissa, Gene, Susie, Craig, and hell even "Swankywanker" who black balled me from her blog. ;). Its been great to see Billy, Brian, and BrothaJay ramping back up into ultra fitness land. Anyway, lets here some chatter...

Not SuperBad or SuperGood
Superbad the movie = supergood (freaking hilarious)
Superbowl = supergood but wish the Cards could have pulled the win out.
Superbowl food = supergood but superbad for the guy on a healthy diet (do I love chicken wings? - I stopped myself at 7)
Superbowl halftime show = superbad.... I only recognized one song.
Superbowl commercials = supergood "I'm Good"
Anyway, enough Super Ripx180 analysis...
Well can you believe that January is already gone? The first 1/12 of 2009 is in the books. Let me get one thing strait, I have high hopes for 2009 and my fitness goals. 2008 was good to me, slow and steady. As I reflect back on my blog I have been pretty much maintaining for the last 3-4 months. Loosing and gaining the same 5 pounds. That's a great place to be if you are were you want to be weight wise. Not so great if you have been busting your azz doing P90x for the last 8 weeks. So its time for this guy to put on the slicks and let the rubber hit the road. No more spinning the wheels its time for some traction and results. I think for any of this to stick I have to lay down some new goals. This leads me to my #1 short term goal....
1. I will reach Onederland by the end of February......
If i don't post every couple days start heckling me via the comments. Its time for some forward progress.
I have some other goals that I am working on to so there will be more to come via my sidebar.
I would also like to give some kudos to my P90x coach on the beachbody website. I believe he has done more than most people ever thought possible with his body and he is a stand up good guy. Pics speak a thousand words so check Redswarm out.
Its time to up the intensity... what's your goal for February???
